Accompanying Persons Program

The spouses program is paid for by the “ accompanying adults “ fee. At the meeting the fee will be $380 or 290 € in cash only. The final date for payment at regular prices has passed. If you are bringing an “ accompanying person” and you have not already paid the fee, please send a message to tdls@conncoll.edu stating your intention in participating in the spouses program, as we must have an approximate headcount to reserve buses and guides prior to 1 June.

Monday 11/07: Visit to Scarperia
Guided tour to Palazzo dei Vicari, Museum of "Ferri taglienti" (cutting
tools) and town center. Free time for shopping. Palazzo dei Vicari and the
museum will be open only for us, as they are normally closed on Monday
morning.
Departure 09:00, return 12:3

6:00 p.m. – Conference Reception in Historic Florence. We will have a guide for the Palazzo Vecchio and we will also see the Entrance Hall. The Ponte vecchio, Duomo, Uffizi and Science Museum are optional and they are nearby. ( for more details, see Social Events )

Tuesday 12/07: Florence center
Guided tour starting at Piazzale Michelangelo, then visit to Piazza del Duomo, Piazza della Signoria and Piazza S. Croce. Visit to the churc h of Santa Croce, with the burials of Michelangelo, Galileo Galilei, Vittorio Alfieri and Niccolò Machiavelli. Departure 08:00, return 13:00

6:00 p.m. – Conference dinner at Castello Mediceo di Cafaggiolo. ( for more details, see Social Events )

Wednesday 13/07
Free morning for shopping in Florence. Shuttle bus for the terminal of bus 25A, leading to S. Maria Novella Station.

Wednesday afternoon and evening – Excursion to Chianti classico, San Gimignano, and evening wine tasting and buffet at Villa Macchiavelli. (for more details, see Social Events on the TDLS home page…tdls.conncoll.edu )

Thursday 14/07
Guided visit to Parco Demidoff, Pratolino Created during the Renaissance by Francesco I dei Medici, it hosts several fountains and the "Colosso dell'Appennino" by Giambologna, a very big mythological figure which should protect the Park.
